BIO
David’s passion for wanting to draw his guests, friends and clients towards attractive outdoor settings, stems from a belief that there is a quiet grounding effect, which nature tends to have on us. Hence, his quest to make, not only the immediate outdoor spaces, but also the inside outside transitions as inviting as possible.

Whether in a small covered area, (enough for a chair on a balcony), or in a garden pavilion where one can read, watch and listen to plants rustling in the wind (ideally without the chimes), birds, the rain or snow in relative comfort, yet, ideally far enough away from our technical accoutrements, such as phone T.V. or the internet, allows us to begin the process of rekindling our connection with nature.

Born in Rotterdam Holland, he has created gardens in France, Scotland and the Netherlands as well as in Alberta and British Columbia.

He specializes predominantly in single and multi-family residential landscape design in the Lower Mainland.

An astute listener, and interpreter of his client’s deepest wishes, he excels in forging unions between these wishes and the available sites. Developing concepts on this basis, remains the preferred process.

He has a reputation for innovation and flexibility with a diverse array of budgets.

David is a member of The British Columbia Society of Landscape Architects (B.C.S.L.A) and The Canadian Society of Landscape Architects (C.S.L.A.). He carries professional insurance.
